Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton speaks in Washington, Thursday, July 14, 2016. Americans have mixed feelings on which presidential candidate will do better on key issues like health care, trade, the economy and terrorism. EDITOR:

I am an honorably discharged veteran who proudly served our country in Vietnam. While there, I possessed the identical security clearances as Mrs. Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee.

I was cautioned strongly by my supervisors that if in any way I violated my security clearances, I would be dishonorably discharged at the very least.

Recently, I viewed the FBI findings of Mrs. Clinton’s security violations as well as the agency’s conclusions. To say that the mistruths she conveyed deserved nothing more than a slap on the hand is appalling. To conclude that she did not knowingly or intentionally violate her clearances is blatant baloney. She knew exactly what she was doing. A double standard? Definitely!

With November rapidly approaching to elect someone for the highest office in the nation, trust, honor and honesty are essential, and Mrs. Clinton obviously does not possess these qualities. She should voluntarily step down.
