Police ID suspect in Aurora double shooting last week


AURORA | Aurora police on Monday identified a man arrested after a double shooting last week that left one man dead in north Aurora as Margarito Najera.

Arapahoe County Jail records stated that Najera, 43, is being held without bond on a first-degree murder charge. He is due in court Thursday.

Police said the shooting happened around 8:45 a.m. April 28 in an alley between Clinton and Dallas streets near East 14th Avenue.

When officers responded to reports of gunfire, they found three men, two of whom had been shot.

The officers started CPR and emergency crews rushed the two men to a local hospital, where one died, police said.

Names of the two men who were shot have not been released.
