AURORA | Aurora police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man believed to have stolen tens of thousands of dollars worth of landscaping equipment from an Aurora church last year.
Authorities on Wednesday issued a pair of tweets asking followers to identify a man suspected of stealing at least four pieces of heavy machinery from the Tower Community Fellowship over the course of several months in 2020.

The local Church of Nazarene congregation is located at 1800 S. Tower Rd. in Aurora. Police indicated the equipment was being stored somewhere near that address.
Investigators said the man is accused of stealing a small Caterpillar backhoe and a Barreto tiller worth a combined $23,000 on Sept. 29 of last year. Detectives believe the same man nabbed a Ditch Witch bulldozer and a plow, valued at a combined $42,000 on Dec. 7.
In security camera images provided by police, the man suspected of stealing the machines is wearing a white bandana around his neck and a black t-shirt emblazoned with the Ducati motorcycles logo. He is holding a red skateboard deck bearing the image of the Toy Machine brand.
Investigators are asking anyone with potential information related to these thefts to call the Denver Metro Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and be eligible for rewards up to $2,000.
