AURORA | Aurora police have arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder for his suspected role in a shooting across from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus last month.

Investigators on Monday announced the arrest of Marquin Wilson in connection with the shooting that left two people wounded in a parking lot near 13600 E. 14th Place at about 10:30 p.m. Jan. 28, according to tweets from the Aurora Police Department.

The two people injured in the shooting are expected to survive their injuries, police have indicated.

Detectives have recommended Wilson be charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.

Criminal records indicate Wilson was found guilty in 2013 of invasion of privacy at a school. A year later, he pleaded guilty to the petty offense of disorderly conduct in Aurora. He was sentenced to 12 months of probation and several weeks in juvenile detention, according to Colorado Bureau of Investigation records.

Wilson is currently incarcerated at the Arapahoe County jail in Centennial in lieu of posting a $250,000 bond, according to county records. He’s scheduled to appear next in court at 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 4.
