AURORA | An unidentified man speeding in his car late Wednesday night on East Colfax hit a street pole late Wednesday and was killed in the crash, police said.
Police said the man, not identified, was “speeding” eastbound on East Colfax Avenue in his Honda Accord at about 11 p.m. when the crash occurred.
“The driver lost control and struck a pole at Moline Street,” Aurora police spokesperson Joe Moylan said in a statement “The driver was taken to a local hospital, where (he) later died from their injuries.”
No one else was involved in the crash. Moylan said the driver’s possible intoxication is being investigated as a contributing factor in the crash.
