GOLDEN | Mitt Romney is telling Coloradans still reeling from a movie theater shooting last month that “we love you and we pray for you. You’re in our hearts and you’re in our prayers.”
During a visit to Colorado on Thursday, the Republican presidential candidate briefly mentioned the 2-week-old shooting that killed 12 and wounded 58. He spoke to hundreds of supporters and spent most of his speech bashing President Obama’s economic record. Romney did introduce a victim wounded in the shooting.
A small group of gun control advocates rallied outside the campaign stop at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds. Later, Romney headed to Basalt for an afternoon appearance with Republican governors.

On the day after Barrack Obama was elected gun sales in the state of Utah (the headquarters of the LDS Church and host state of Romney’s 2002 Winter Olympics), and surrounding states (with high LDS populations), skyrocketed to unbelieveable numbers. Maybe the gun sales are an indication of just how readily the Mormon population actually accepts a black man as the President of the US, yet they want that black vote.
I take it “church state” has never visited Utah or lived there. Mormons have strong prescence there, but like everywhere else there are people from all religions, and shock: “even some who claim to be athists”. Had relatives living there and have traveled through over the years, and you have to be cautious, same as anywhere else. Gun sales went up because Obama’s policies showed he would try for “European gun control” and we are now seeing the anger, frustration, rage, and same reaction that Chicago showed over the years. I have traveled, visited, or lived in 44 of the 50 (not 57) states, and believe in self-protection for myself and family. And that was long before Obama appeared on political scene. 26 years in military also educated me to political, economical, and historical nature of U.S. Too bad our citizens have gone soft, and ignorant of how wonderful United States is. 75% of our youth cannot qualify for military now due to drugs, habits, physical conditions, health problems, attitudes, and many lacking basic education in english, math, science, or even being able to read. I had this impressed on me after retiring and being in community college with high school students here in Colorado. (1978 – 1983).
