Eight people were hospitalized after a car crashed into an Aurora taco restaurant Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened around 5:15 p.m. at the Tacos & Salsas restaurant at 2284 S. Chambers Rd.
According to Aurora police, a driver in a Honda sedan tried to pull away from the restaurant when they accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake, sending the car slamming into the front of the restaurant.
Police said 10 people were hurt and eight of them rushed to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators believe drugs and alcohol may have contributed to the crash
The Aurora police traffic unit is investigating the crash and charges against the driver are pending, police said.
