AURORA | Aurora fire investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person they believe might be linked to an arson fire that damaged multiple businesses last October.

The fire was reported around 1 a.m. Oct. 31 at a business strip center on the 2200 block of Dayton Street in northwest Aurora, according to the Aurora Fire Rescue Fire Investigation Bureau.

The block-long business center includes automotive and fitness businesses.

“Investigators are seeking to identify a suspect captured on surveillance footage in the area shortly before the fire was reported,” Aurora Fire Rescue spokesperson Eric Hurst said in a statement. “Authorities believe this person may have critical information related to the incident.”

No additional details about the extent of the damage were released.

Police said anyone with information can call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and still be eligible for a reward of up to $7,000, police said.
