Aurora Pride 2026 at Winged Melody Park
Aurora Pride returns as a large-scale celebration of LGBTQ+ culture, identity and community, with the 2026 festival moving to Winged Melody Park at The Aurora Highlands. The free, all-ages event brings together live music, drag performers, DJs, artists, craft vendors, food and family activities. Aurora Pride is partnering with Latino Pride this year, adding another layer of cultural representation to the celebration.

Stop Kiss” at The Storyteller Theatre
Diana Son’s acclaimed drama follows Sara and Callie, two women whose unexpected first kiss sets off a profound change in their lives. The play examines love, vulnerability and the way a community responds after a violent act of prejudice. ER Productions’ debut production is also the first production in Aurora’s new Storyteller Theatre, a flexible black-box venue designed to give independent artists an affordable home. The production includes community-resource tables and post-show talkbacks, including one on Aug. 28.

Concert at the Park at Umi
The Aurora Highlands continues Aurora Pride with an evening of music and visual spectacle at Umi in Hogan Park. Guitarist Michael Cer performs an acoustic set from 7–9 p.m., followed by a Gospel House set from Pameluv. As night falls, the park becomes part of the performance through a projection-lighting show running until 11 p.m.

3rd Annual Kinship Arts Movement Mural Festival
The Kinship Arts Movement Mural Festival brings public art, live painting, music and performance together for a free community celebration centered on the theme “To the Land That Remembers.” The Aurora portion includes an opening-night community day followed by a full Performance Day with artists painting murals in real time, music, an open mic, performances, vendors and food. The festival provides an unusually direct way to watch public art being created rather than simply viewing finished work.

Filipino Friday Night: “Shadows and Sunrises” Author Talk
Filipina American author Sheilah Jane discusses her memoir “Shadows and Sunrises,” a work examining resilience, identity and belonging through the lens of Filipino American experience. FACC Padayon will also perform, giving the evening a combination of literary discussion and Filipino cultural performance. The program is part of the Aurora History Museum’s Filipino Friday Night series.

DeLaney Farm Open Days
Step into Aurora’s agricultural past during an open-house afternoon at the historic DeLaney Farm. Visitors can explore the round barn, Gully House and surrounding farmland associated with one of the families who lived on the plains before Aurora was established. The museum adds family scavenger hunts, games and refreshments, making the event part historic-site tour and part community heritage day.

Centennial House Open Days
Aurora’s early history comes alive at Centennial House, one of the city’s original Queen Anne-style “Fletcher homes.” Visitors can tour the historic residence and learn about the people and communities that helped shape early Aurora. The open-house format allows visitors to explore the property at a relaxed pace rather than through a conventional museum gallery.

“Route 15” at Roshni Healing Arts Sanctuary
“Route 15” is an immersive theater production built around the real-life stories of people connected to the communities served by Roshni. The central character, Moe, drives an East Colfax bus route that becomes a vehicle for meeting people described as displaced, disabled, divergent, disadvantaged and disruptive. The production blends world dance, comedy and multidisciplinary arts to tell a story about welcome, kindness and shared connection.

“SCFD Free Night: Sturm Family Wing Grand Opening” at Denver Museum of Nature and Science
The Denver Museum of Nature & Science opens its newly transformed Sturm Family Wing with a free evening for the public. The celebration includes hands-on activities, live science demonstrations, live music and outdoor dining on the new Sturm Family Plaza. Visitors can also purchase separate tickets for giant-screen theater premieres inside the new Sturm Infinity Theater, making the event part museum opening, part outdoor arts celebration and part entertainment night.

“The Move West, Gold Rush and Homesteading” at DeLaney Historic District
This hands-on history program explores the Colorado Gold Rush and the westward movement that helped shape the region. ”Shadows & Secrets” at Vintage Theatre
Insight Colab Theatre presents *”Shadows & Secrets,” a staged multimedia mystery by playwright Nancy Wang that blends live theater with the style of a classic radio drama. Inspired by the real-life death of Wang’s grandfather, Chicago restaurateur Chin F. Foin, the play revisits a decades-old cold case set during the Prohibition era. As a live studio audience watches the fictional Mystery Radio Playhouse investigate whether Foin’s fatal fall down an elevator shaft was an accident—or murder—the story unfolds through suspense, historical intrigue and family memories. Set against the backdrop of 1920s Chicago, the production explores tong wars, corruption, greed and the search for long-buried truth. The 75-minute performance is recommended for mature audiences and is presented without an intermission.
