AURORA | Police say a man driving a stolen motorcycle collided with a car near midnight Saturday, killing the driver and seriously injuring a passenger on the bike.
Investigators said the bike was headed west on East Iliff Avenue at 11:49 p.m. Saturday when it collided with an eastbound Honda CR-V turning onto South Idalia Street.
“The adult male motorcycle driver and the adult female motorcycle passenger were both transported to area hospitals,” Aurora police spokesperson Katie Fischer said in a statement. “The male driver was later pronounced deceased, and the female passenger remains in stable condition.”
Police said the driver of the Honda fled the scene, and the car was located a “short distance away unoccupied.”
Neither the motorcycle driver nor his passenger were identified.
No other details were provided.

Was the motorcycle thief driving fast and the lefturning Honda CRV driver did not realize the motorcycle would arrive at the intersection so quickly?
CRV driver using lefturn signal?
Honda driver DUI?
Well, we know several things, it was near midnight, a dead man, an injured woman, they were riding a stolen motorcycle and a CRV driver that fled the scene. So, it is hard to draw a lesson from this but obviously there are red flags. I used to live near several casinos and bars and regular tragedies like this occurred and helped me solidify my rule of thumb that nothing good happens after 10:00 PM.
