DENVER | The National Weather Service says a small tornado caused serious damage to a home in Aurora after a powerful storm moved through the Denver area at the height of rush hour Wednesday afternoon.

Trees were uprooted, with some still blocking roads Thursday morning.

The weather service says winds up to 90 miles per hour caused the damage. The tornado was about 50 yards wide and continued for nearly three miles.

No injuries were reported.

The rain flooded intersections and left some without power. About 30 flights had to be diverted from Denver International Airport.
