AURORA | The city will be having a tree-mendous lighting ceremony that planners say will dazzle Aurora.

“Get ready to light up the night with joy and cheer,” city officials said in a statement.

The annual Holiday Tree Lighting is slated to take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Aurora Municipal Center, 15151 E. Alameda Parkway

“Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with luminescent sights, merry sounds and festive tastes to ring in the holiday season,”officials said.

Residents will be able to warm up to live performances by Aurora Dance Hearts, the Wicked Pitches and the Timberline Elementary School Choir, hot chocolate, cookies, and, of course, Santa Claus himself.

“Wander through Santa’s workshop, glowing with thousands of lights,” the statement said, “and other delightful surprises from our special guests.”

Guests will also be able to get some festive holiday shopping out of the way with unique products at the Merry Makers Market from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. inside the Aurora Central Library.

Or visitors can witness the 26th Festival of Wreaths exhibit at the nearby Aurora History Museum from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The events are all free and family-friendly. For more information, go to AuroraGov.org/Lights.
