AURORA — Aurora Democratic Congressperson Jason Crow, a former Army Ranger and member of both the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and the Armed Services Committee, will unveil a “new vision” for American foreign policy Wednesday at the Center for American Progress in Washington, according to his office spokespersons.

In remarks scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Aurora time, Crow “will offer a new affirmative vision for the future of American global leadership,” and discuss how Americans “can not only fight back against President Donald Trump’s failing policies, but build an alternative that is rooted in working class interests and true American values,” according to a statement.

The event comes amid growing critiques of the Trump administration’s foreign-policy moves and rhetoric.

Analysts say that Trump’s trade and immigration policies are “undermining relationships that have been cornerstones of American foreign policy to counter China’s growing influence,” eroding years of diplomatic investment, according to a recent Associated Press report

Another AP story flagged the administration’s “transactional approach to diplomacy,” saying that Trump had “ordered a pause on U.S. military aid for and intelligence-sharing with Kyiv, halted offensive cyber-operations against Russia …” undercutting longstanding U.S. strategic commitments.

The Center for American Progress is a left-leaning, non-partisan public policy think tank and advocacy group.

The event will be livestreamed for the public at www.youtube.com/@seeprogress/streams.

  1. President Trump’s foreign policies are meeting with one success after another. He prefers to fight wars using economics, rather than missiles, bombs and troops.
His incentive is access to the greatest consumer economy in the world – the United States. What’s not to like.

  2. I’ve said it in these comments before and say it again. There are not a lot of we voters that care anything that Jason Crow speaks about. And if you read the Sentinel Blog, he speaks a lot about everything. Now foreign policy. Big subject for a one out of 500 federal legislators.

    1. Oh, my, my. And yet he still gets reelected.

As a House member, foreign affairs are part of the job. You might want to look at what the House of Representatives does, for that matter, since you don’t seem to have a clue.

      1. I suspect that you have no clue on what I know or don’t know and I’ll not dispute that fact with someone that I know doesn’t follow my thoughts and that from past statements, I know how Jeff Ryan thinks.

I am curious what life style keeps you up reading the Sentinel Blog at 2 in the morning. Can’t sleep? Graveyard worker? Night stalker? Night runner?
