AURORA | An argument in a central Aurora restaurant parking lot became the scene of a shooting Wednesday night when one of two men in the dispute pulled out a gun and shot the other, police said.

The shooting happened at about 8:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a Chipotle restaurant at 15280 E Iliff Ave., police said.

Police said the male shooting victim described the suspect only as a “Black man” who drove away in “a small silver SUV, possibly a Honda CRV,” Aurora Police Agent Matthew Longshore said in a statement.

The shooting victim was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment of what police said were serious injuries.

“No arrests have been made but officers are actively following up on leads,” Longshore said.

The nature of the dispute and the shooting victim’s prognosis were not released.

Police said anyone with information can call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and still be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000, police said.

Well, that really narrows it down.

  2. Maybe you released this a day early? Not sure if it is made up news that slipped out or if you are dumb and don’t know that Thursday night hasn’t happened yet…

  3. Maybe we could restart dueling or gunfights in the streets. Old west style
    Darwanism at its best?

    1. Visitors to Dodge City, a familiar location to those who are keen on the Old West, were greeted first by a sign informing them that “The Carrying of Firearms [is] Strictly Prohibited”. And Dodge City was far from the only town that had such a law.
