AURORA | A man was wounded in a shooting that Aurora police say took place Wednesday afternoon near East 14th Avenue and Akron Street.

In a report published Wednesday, Aurora police said they responded after Denver notified them about a shooting victim they encountered on the edge of their jurisdiction, near Aurora.

The man was transported to a hospital with serious injuries, but police spokeswoman Sydney Edwards said Thursday morning that he survived.

The report said police do not know what led up to the shooting, which occurred at about 5:45 p.m., and have not made an arrest.
