GREENWOOD VILLAGE | There wasn’t much offense before or after a significant lightning delay during Wednesday evening’s Class 5A boys lacrosse quarterfinal playoff game at Stutler Bowl, but Regis Jesuit got it when it counted the most.

The seventh-seeded Raiders scored just twice in the opening two quarters as a series of lengthy possessions didn’t translate into goals with stellar play from the goalie for No. 2 Cherry Creek, but they all three goals on the other side of long weather break and came away with a 5-3 upset victory.

Senior Dylan Kummer scored the go-ahead goal following a steal less than two minutes into the final quarter to break a 3-3 tie and freshman Austin Ryan added an empty net insurance goal after Regis Jesuit took several precious minutes of time off the clock.

Coach Ross Moscatelli’s Raiders moved into Saturday’s semifinals, where they will meet No. 3 Valor Christian. No. 5 Legend and No. 1 Arapahoe will play in the other Final Four contest at the Peter Barton Stadium at the University of Denver.
