AURORA | The Aurora West College Prep boys soccer team’s season will last at least one more game, as the Spartans made the 32-team Class 3A state tournament bracket issued Monday by the Colorado High School Activities Association.

Coach Uli Dahm’s Aurora West College Prep team finished the season on a stretch of four wins, one loss and a tie in the final six games and ended up as the No. 29 overall seed with an 8-3-3 overall record. The Spartans finished as the fifth-place team in the 3A/2A Confluence League, which included Lotus School For Excellence, who made the postseason in 2A.

Aurora West College Prep opens the postseason on the road against No. 5 Forge Christian (9-3-2) in Arvada in a game scheduled to be played on Oct. 25. The teams will meet for the first time this season.

The Spartans are led offensively by sophomore Alex Silva, who paces the team in both goal scored (13), assists (8) and total points (34). Seven other players have scored multiple goals on the season, including senior Bryan Cazares (eight) and sophomore Miguel Garcia Perez (seven).

The first round winner advances to play the first round winner between No. 20 Eagle Ridge Academy and No. 13 KIPP Denver Collegiate.
