Even without No. 1 Jack Lazzeri competing, coach Craig Rogers’ Raiders posted a team score of 311 at The Club at Pradera in the last of six league tournaments to top Rock Canyon by six strokes in that competition and finish the season 18 strokes in front of Highlands Ranch for the team championship.

Senior Kevin Shafer tied for third individually with a 4-over-par 76 and senior teammate John Kane was just a stroke behind him in a tie for fourth at 77 for Regis Jesuit, which won its fourth straight Continental League tournament after finishing second behind Highlands Ranch in the first two. The Falcons trailed by four strokes coming into the Pradera tournament, but turned in their lowest finish (6th) in any of the league meets.

Juniors Andrew McCormick and Bennett Rogers each carded 79s for the Raiders, who also placed first in the previous three league meets at Wellshire G.C. (Aug. 20), Lone Tree G.C. (Aug. 26) and Plum Creek G.C. (Sept. 2).

Regis Jesuit grabbed the No. 1 seed from the Continental League in the process, which places them in the Class 5A Central Regional set for Sept. 15 at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club. The Raiders will attempt to qualify a team for the Sept. 29-30 state tournament, where they will attempt to win a fifth consecutive 5A state title.
