EMMA | Authorities are investigating the death of a Silt woman whose body was found south of Emma last week.
A rancher found the body of 44-year-old Claudia Ruiz on Friday, eight days after Ruiz was reported missing.
The Aspen Times reports that she was last seen by her daughter on May 17 getting on a Roaring Fork Transportation Authority bus in Glenwood Springs. Surveillance video showed her getting off the bus near El Jebel, several miles from where she was found.
Rancher Rory Cerise says he’s sure Ruiz’s body wasn’t on the land on May 19 when he drove his cattle into the high country.
