AURORA | The Aurora Fire Department on Friday said they were adopting the statewide ban on open burning and fireworks signed by Gov. John Hickenlooper. The bans come after wildfires have raged through the state, burning over 70 square miles in some places.
The ban means residents won’t be allowed to burn material outside of permanent fire pits, gas-fueled stoves, grills or controlled fires in agricultural areas. Fireworks will also be prohibited outside of approved exhibitions by the fire department.
