A look at the games, tournaments and happenings in Aurora prep sports between May 8-May 10:

The Class 5A girls state tennis tournament runs May 8-10 at the Gates Tennis Center in Denver, with two Aurora No. 1 singles players — Regis Jesuit’s Haley Chirico and Eaglecrest’s Renee Christopher — involved, along with the Regis Jesuit No. 2 doubles team of Lexi Christopher and Clare Quinn. Play begins at 9 a.m. all three days, with championship and third-place matches set for May 10.

League championship track meets run May 8 & May 10, with the Centennial League — featuring Cherokee Trail, Eaglecrest, Grandview, Overland and Smoky Hill —opening at 3:30 p.m. May 8 at Stutler Bowl and Regis Jesuit and the Continental League opening at 4 p.m. May 8 at Sports Authority Stadium in Parker (weather permitting).  Also scheduled for May 8 is the finals of the EMAC Championships at Prairie View High School for Aurora Central, Gateway, Hinkley and Rangeview. The Centennial League meet resumes at 9 a.m. May 10 and the Continental League opens its second day at 10 a.m.

The Grandview girls soccer team plays Pine Creek at 6:30 p.m. May 9 at District 20 Stadium as the teams meet in the second round of the Class 5A state playoffs with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line.

The Regis Jesuit girls lacrosse team visits Centaurus at 4:30 p.m. May 9 in a 2nd round playoff contest between teams that met in last season’s semifinals.

League championship boys swim meets run May 9-10 in three different locations. EMAC teams compete at Veterans’ Memorial Aquatic Center — site of the 5A state meet the next week —with prelims at 4:30 p.m. May 9 and finals at 12:30 p.m. May 10. The Centennial “A” League meet is contested at Smoky Hill with prelims at 5 p.m. May 9 and finals at 3 p.m. May 10 and the Continental “A” League gathering at Heritage for prelims at 4 p.m. May 9 and finals at 3 p.m. May 10.

Class 5A district baseball tournaments run May 10, with second-seeded Regis Jesuit playing host to the District 5 group and No. 23 Grandview playing in District 6 at Rocky Mountain High School. Championship games in both districts are slated for 3 p.m., with the winner advancing to the double-elimination 5A championship series.

The Class 5A boys lacrosse state quarterfinals all take place May 10 at Regis Jesuit with the Raiders set to play the 9 a.m. game at Lou Kellogg Stadium against Mullen after a first-round win over Chaparral May 7.
