Details: The scope of That Eighties Band isn’t limited to a single genre or style from the decade of big hair and synthesizers. The Denver-based quartet tackles artists ranging from Vanilla Ice to Billy Idol during their live sets, a versatility that’s earned them gigs across the Denver metro area and beyond. That Eighties Band brings their musical tribute to Aurora for a free show as part of the Sounds of Southlands concert series.

Details: The Resonatorz stress their skill as seasoned rock and roll musicians, but the band known locally for their high-energy electric shows is set to show Aurora audiences a different dimension of their musical personalities. The band’s show at the Zephyr on Saturday is set to be entirely acoustic. While the band will keep up its commitment to blues-based classic rock, the touch is sure to give the show a more meditative feel.

Details: The first of the city’s free Banks in Harmony shows will feature the expansive and nostalgic sounds of the big band era with Dean Bushnell and his orchestra, a favorite of the public festival in prior years. The free concert in the park will also feature local food vendors.

Details: The Aurora Fox will kick off its season of children’s theater with the June production of “Charlotte’s Web,” Joseph Robinette’s onstage adaptation of E.B. White’s classic. The show will feature students from the Fox’s series of summer theater classes for young actors and crew members. The cast of characters includes Wilbur, the young pig looking to avoid the butcher; Fern, a girl who can understand the language of animals; Templeton, a gluttonous rat; and the title character of Charlotte, a spider who turns into an important ally.

Details: The young Cherry Creek Theatre Company kicks off its summer season with a musical revue of legendary songwriters Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II. The Tony-Award nominated revue includes selections from definitive Broadway shows like “Carousel,” “Oklahoma!,” “The King and I,” “South Pacific,” “Cinderella” and “The Sound of Music.”
“Legally Blonde: The Musical,” through July 1, the Arvada Center, 6901 Wadsworth Blvd. Tickets start at $35. Information: 720-898-7200 or arvadacenter.org. Details: Penned by University of Colorado Boulder graduate, Heather Hach, the show follows the basic plotline of the 2001 film of the same name. The musical, which features music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin, tells the story of Elle Woods, a bright and perky sorority girl who applies to Harvard Law School to win back her boyfriend. The production follows successful takes on big-budget Broadway shows at the Arvada Center, including last year’s production of “Hairspray” and the recent mounting of “Ragtime.”

Details: Kimberly Anderson Ritchie and Sarah Rockett’s work in the upcoming joint exhibit are rooted in themes of place and surroundings, a constant element that stretches across the prints and drawings in the show. From visual musings on the landscape of Wyoming to digitally animated ink drawing on latex, the work takes a careful look at environment and how it shapes our vision.
