AURORA | The Adams County coroner’s office on Thursday released the name of a man killed Oct. 10 in a shooting near East 16th Avenue and Alton Street.

Heriberto Sotelo-Rojo, 31, died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the coroner.

No arrests have been made in Sotelo-Rojo’s slaying, but Aurora police spokeswoman Sgt. Cassidee Carlson said detectives are following up on leads.

According to police, Sotelo-Rojo was gunned down around 9:30 p.m. in the courtyard of an apartment complex in the 1600 block of Alton Street.

When police arrived, they found Sotelo-Rojo on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds,. He was rushed to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Detective Warren Miller at 303-739-6117. Tipsters can also remain anonymous and call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867), or text a tip to 274637. Crime Stoppers is offering a  $2,000 reward for information.

  1. the guy that was shot was a illegal and had a criminal record….soo if he hadn’t violated the law by being here illegally he wouldn’t had been in that courtyard to be shot….so he killed himself.
