AURORA | Officials from local school districts — Aurora Public Schools, Cherry Creek Schools and Regis Jesuit High School — moved quickly to close school on Wednesday due to forecasts of blizzard conditions.

With the closure comes the cancellation of all scheduled practices and games, meaning a significant slate of spring sports events will have to be rescheduled.

Lingering snow and field conditions already cut into some contests in the first full week of the new season, but most teams had been able to get in at least one contest before this newest storm is expected to hit.

A large slate of action did get in on Tuesday.

There may not be many outdoor contests held before all the districts go on spring break, which is scheduled for the week of March 18.
