AURORA | A man struck by a car Saturday at East Sixth Avenue and Potomac Street is expected to survive, police said.

The crash happened around 10 p.m. Saturday when the man tried to cross Sixth against the walk signal. Police said the man narrowly avoided being struck by a westbound car before being struck by an eastbound car.

Aurora police Lt. Jeff Turner, who oversees the department’s traffic section, said the man caused the crash crossing against the walk signal and the driver who struck him will not face charges.

The man was seriously hurt but is expected to survive, Turner said.
