AURORA | A man who may have been drunk was seriously injured Saturday after police say he was struck by a Jeep.

The man, whose name has not been released, was on life support Saturday and police said there was “a high potential that he will not survive.” It wasn’t immediately clear Monday what condition the man was in.

Police said the crash happened around 4:15 a.m. Saturday on East Sixth Avenue a few blocks east of Havana Street.

A Jeep was traveling westbound on Sixth when the man tried to cross the street in a dark stretch of road without a crosswalk.

Police said the woman who was driving the Jeep likely won’t face charges because the pedestrian appears to be at fault.

Investigators believe the man may have been intoxicated, police said.
