AURORA | Aurora police are treating the case of a central Aurora senior citizen as a homicide after police were called to 12041 E Harvard Ave. this month. 

The Arapahoe County Coroner identified the deceased as Carl Edward Nevels. He was 74 years old.

The cause of death has not been released by authorities. A spokesperson for Aurora police said it could be weeks before any details are made public.

Two of Nevels’ neighbors declined to comment on his death.

Officers arrived Aug. 13 at the apartment complex and located an unresponsive male inside the residence. Nevels was pronounced dead at the scene, according to reports.
