AURORA | The Grandview girls golf team posted a five-stroke victory in the sixth and final Centennial League tournament held Wednesday at Saddle Rock G.C.
The Wolves faced too large of a margin to get past Cherry Creek for the overall league championship, but ended the league season on a high note with their second tournament victory.
Coach Mary Danielson’s Grandview team carded a plus-23 score of 311, five shots better than the Bruins and well clear of third-place Arapahoe (328). Junior Amy Chitkoksoong led the Wolves with a 1-over-par 73, which tied for first place with Eaglecrest freshman Emma Bryant.
Chitkoksoong’s performance wrapped up the individual league title for a third straight season.
Senior Caitlin O’Donnell shot a 5-over 77 and sophomore Brinnli Stevens posted her best score of the season with an 8-over 80 to give Grandview three top-10 performers.
Paced by Brooke Kramer, who tied for ninth with an 80, Cherokee Trail
Bryant was under par as she neared the end of her round, but ended up with a 73 for the second straight tournament.
Led by junior Brooke Kramer’s 80, Cherokee Trail topped Eaglecrest by 11 strokes for fourth place.
