The Eaglecrest baseball team opened the season with a 2-0 victory against Vista PEAK in an all-Aurora matchup March 8.

The Raptors got a five-inning, 1-hit effort on the mound from starter Evan Mason, who struck out nine batters, while Joey Garduno whiffed five in two scoreless innings of relief for the save.

Matthew Barlow had a pair of hits and an RBI to pace Eaglecrest, while Zach Sulyma drove in the other run.

Junior James Wasick pitched a complete game for Vista PEAK. He scattered five hits and allowed one earned run.
