AURORA | The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office said a 34-year-old man died of a stab wound Saturday night, July 9, in Aurora.
Jose Omar Carrasco was stabbed in his chest, the coroner’s office said, and his death was ruled a homicide.
Aurora police spokeswoman Officer Diana Cooley said officers responded Saturday night to a report of a stabbing in an apartment in the 300 block of South Ironton Street.
When officers arrived they found an unresponsive man who had been stabbed, she said. The man was pronounced dead at an area hospital.
Cooley said a woman was at the apartment and taken into custody on an unrelated warrant. As of Monday afternoon she has not been charged in connection with Carrasco’s death, Cooley said.
The coroner referred to the slaying as a “domestic incident” but Cooley said police weren’t releasing details about the relationship between Carrasco and the woman.
