AURORA | Aurora police announced Thursday, May 19, they have arrested a suspect in the death of a woman found Monday in an Aurora apartment.

Nila Kanta Bhattarai, 31, was arrested Thursday and will face a first-degree murder charge for the death of a woman found with a head injury Monday afternoon at a northwest Aurora apartment.
The woman, who the Arapahoe County coroner identified as Kali Sarki, 56, was found around 2:40 p.m. Monday after police were called to the apartment at 1429 Macon St. on a report of a “down party.” Police said when they arrived they found the woman with a head injury and rushed her to an area hospital, where she died.
The coroner said Sarki died from traumatic blunt force trauma to the head and classified her death as a homicide.
Nila is being held in Arapahoe County Jail without bond. Aurora police did not release any further information about the arrest or the homicide Thursday.
