BOULDER, Colo. | Music is returning to the University of Colorado’s Folsom Field for the first time since 2001.

The Daily Camera reports (https://bit.ly/1Qpe5Op ) that university athletic officials announced Monday that the football field will kick off its revived music calendar with two concerts by Dead & Company, a band that features three of the four surviving members of the Grateful Dead plus John Mayer, on July 2 and 3.

The stadium hasn’t hosted a band since a 2001 concert by the Dave Matthews Band that was fined $15,000 for playing past curfew.

The fields turn as a concert venue largely died down after the early 80s, with only three bands taking the field after a noisy Van Halen show in 1986.
