AURORA | A group of criminals targeting gyms, shopping centers and unattended vehicles has been identified operating across the eastern metro, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office advised Friday, Jan. 15.

According to sheriff’s office spokeswoman Julie Brooks, individuals associated with the nationwide “Felony Lane Gang” are suspected in multiple recent incidents in Aurora, as well as Arapahoe and Douglas counties.

Sheriff’s deputies say multiple thefts were reported on the mornings of Dec. 17 and 18, 2015, in Centennial, with two black males seen idling in a red Chevy Tahoe near one of the areas prior of a victim’s vehicle being broken into one morning.

The ACSO warns that purses and checkbooks are often targeted, as well as unlocked vehicles. The thieves frequently take stolen ID cards and cash fraudulent checks in drive-through lanes at bank branches.

Anyone who sees suspicious activity matching these descriptions is asked to call the ACSO tip line at 720-874-8477. Additionally, the Felony Gang Task Force is on Facebook.
