AURORA | The Denver Broncos have more than three weeks until they have a showdown with the New England Patriots, but that won’t stop some of the mile high faithful from starting the trash talking now.
A photo of receipt from a 7-Eleven at East Alameda Avenue and South Ironton Street shows that the register was programmed to include the phrase “TOM BRADY’S A CHEATER” near the top of the receipt.
The photo, published on Twitter on Tuesday, Nov. 3, shows the recipient of the anti-Brady receipt had gone to the store for a $390 money order.
A store employee on Thursday morning verified the photo’s authenticity, adding that they stopped adding the phrase to receipts a few days earlier on account of some customers’ complaints.
Brady, the longtime starting quarterback for the Patriots, successfully appealed a four-game suspension handed down in the wake of “Deflategate,” in which the Patriots were accused of intentionally deflating footballs used in last season’s AFC Championship Game against the Indianapolis Colts.
The Patriots beat the Colts in that game 45-7.
