COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. | Colorado Springs police have arrested a former El Paso County sheriff’s deputy in connection the shooting death of his wife.
The Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1M09X58 ) that 31-year-old Nikolas Gianes was arrested Saturday on suspicion of second-degree murder after his wife, 32-year-old Fawn Gianes, was found shot to death Friday.
Officials say Nikolas Gianes was on scene after the shooting, called 911 and was involved in the disturbance. He is being held without bond at the El Paso County jail.
Gianes worked at the El Paso County sheriff’s office between 2008 and 2011. He resigned after he was suspected of driving under the influence while off duty.
