Charlie Richardson for
Aurora City Council Ward IV
Editor:
We are writing to share with your readers our strong endorsement of Charlie Richardson for Ward IV.
We’ve come a long way as a city, but we still have far to go. Our unemployment rate is lower than the state average, our schools and neighborhoods are safe places to raise and educate our kids, and we have one of the most diverse communities in the nation. But with these achievements come great challenges: water, transportation infrastructure, real estate development, public safety, and many other priorities.
No one is better suited to join us on Council to meet these challenges than our friend Charlie Richardson. Charlie had spent his entire career in service to Aurora — beginning with his first job out of law school as a traffic court bailiff, then serving as our interim City Manager and finally retiring as our City Attorney after 38 years in service.
Charlie has earned our support only in part because of his strong experience looking out for the needs of Aurorans. We are mostly supporting Charlie because he’s honest, fair, hard-working and a true gentleman. We are confident he will serve Aurora with honor and distinction. Like us, he loves Aurora and will do all he can to keep our City — and its people — on a trajectory of success.
Vote Charlie Richardson for Ward IV!
Sincerely,
Barb Cleland and Marsha Berzins
Aurora City Council members

Surprise, Surprise, Charlie’s travel buddy supports him and Marsha thinks Charlie is a leader that will put Aurora “on a trajectory of success.” Sounds to this codger that they miss Charlie’s hand-holding and his City Attorney advice for consensus.
Charlie’s penchant for more of the same is not only bad it has lead to the philosophy that there are not enough incentives extant, to compete Aurora must give more than is on the books. Gaylord and Corprex are two extreme examples of giving more and Charlie was the man that found a way for City Council to give more.
However, according to the Judge, the Gaylord incentive was an incentive to far, and yet Council Member Cleland and Council Members Brezins believe this is exactley the type new Council memeber Aurora needs.
My heart is with Joe Lewis.
