ALMA | The Park County Sheriff’s Office says a man is dead after he shot his neighbor and later shot and killed himself.

Deputies say they believe the shootings on Saturday were the result of a dispute.

Authorities say 61-year-old Philip Houghton, of Alma, told deputies his neighbor shot him and ran into the woods. Houghton was critically wounded.

An Alma officer said he saw a man wearing camouflage run into the woods and he was discovered a few minutes later with a self-inflicted gunshot.

The suspect has not been identified.
