WASHINGTON | Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet of Colorado is backing the nuclear deal with Iran, another boost for the White House as it aims to bottle up a disapproval resolution in the Senate.

Bennet tells The Denver Post the agreement is flawed but represents an important step toward the objectives of preventing Iran from attaining a nuclear weapon and avoiding war in the Middle East.
Bennet’s announcement makes 38 Democratic and independent senators in favor of the international deal that seeks to erode Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for relief from economic sanctions.
Supporters now stand three votes shy of the number needed to block passage of a GOP disapproval resolution set to come to a vote in the Senate next week.
Bennet is the most vulnerable Senate Democrat, up for re-election next year in a battleground state, and so his stance had been closely watched.

He needs party money for his election race…they got him by the b….ls. Jack Dougherty – Aurora
Bennet should get his resume updated because he probably will not be elected again in Colorado. This move was expected since Bennet backs Obama on everything he does. I believe he represents the Liberals, not the people of Colorado!
They had him when he was appointed to head up Denver School System, and his investments of school funds, led to big loss when economy tanked. He put up big front when appointed as Senator, and they poured money in to keep him there. Never has represented seniors or veterans-retirees of military, though he talked tough. Have not been impressed, especially at his patented Democratic talking points in reply to my issues, which he did not address, other than to thank me for writing to him. After 26 years service, Honorable retirement, I deserved an answer to my issues, not his talking points – parroted by other Democrats.
