DENVER | With nothing falling early at the Denver Coliseum, the Overland boys basketball team found itself in a big hole right away against ThunderRidge in Saturday’s Class 5A Great 8 contest at Denver Coliseum.

That hole only got deeper for coach Danny Fisher’s fourth-seeded Trailblazers, who were never able to get back into the game in a 73-49 loss that ended their season in the quarterfinals for the second straight season.

Junior Graham Ike scored 15 points and junior Kaleb Chaney added eight to lead the way for Overland, which finished the season 19-7.

ThunderRidge — which swept the season series from the Trailblazers with a five-point win in the regular season opener as well — claimed the Kent Smith Region’s spot in the Final Four. The Grizzlies play the winner of the final Great 8 game between No. 24 Cherry Creek and No.
