‘Shifting Outlines’ art show is helping those in need

There are healing properties to art. The act of creating not only builds a physical work but the soul as well. Art Restart is presenting ‘Shifting Outlines: A Collaboration between Artists of The Gathering Place and the Art Students’, an exhibit of art made by members of The Gathering place, Denver’s daytime shelter for women, children, and transgender individuals. The Arts Student League of Denver helped the artists of The Gathering Place with art techniques and processes, helping build confidence in these women. Much of the art is for sale with the commission going to the artists experiencing poverty.

Opening reception is June 13, 5-9 P.M.; exhibit open June 13–22. Leon: A Non-Profit Arts Organization, 1112 E. 17th Ave. artrestart.org. [email protected]; 303-996-9024. Admission is free.
