Satiate your thalassophobia fix with ‘Into the Deep: Leonardo Underwater’

If only it were a pun on Leonardo DiCaprio sinking into the deep dark abyss in ‘Titanic.’ Alas, while Leo – who absolutely could have fit on the door – will go down in history for his on-screen death, Leonardo da Vinci dreamt of going down beneath the waves and actually surviving. The man of 1,000 prototypes will be discussed at length in the lecture ‘Into the Deep: Leonardo Underwater.’ Dr. Leslie Geddes of Tulane University will discuss the brilliant genius and his proto-scuba diving idea, delving into a time when science and imagination went hand-in-hand.
