The second Aurora location is at 25771 E. Smoky Hill Road in the Serenity Ridge neighborhood. Kneaders opened its first Aurora location — at 14455 E. Arapahoe Road — in October 2015.

The fast-casual eatery, specializing in pastries, sandwiches, soups and salads, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, May 19, as well as a grand opening event Friday, May 20. The first 100 guests Friday were treated to free order of Kneaders’ “chunky cinnamon French toast.”

Additionally, 10 percent of this opening weekend’s sales will be donated to Cherokee Trail High School. Beyond that, the Serenity Ridge Kneaders plans to donate day-old bread to southeast Denver’s SECOR food bank.

Store manager Doug Chapman previously worked as assistant manager at another Kneaders location. Before that, he worked as a sales and marketing executive in the oil and gas industry.

The chain originally opened in 1997 in Orem, Utah. It has since expanded to 48 locations across the western United States.

“We are excited to be opening another location in Colorado,” said CEO James Worthington in a news release. “Our Colorado family of customers has always been so supportive. We look forward to expanding our presence in the Aurora community through local partnerships with nonprofits and community outreach efforts. But, our greatest joy is bringing people together with an array of fresh and made-from-scratch menu options.”
