Back in the day, some union-busting, election-rigging businessman decided that February was going to be the month for romance. With the rise of Valentine’s Day, so came the belief that you get a single day devoted to romance. The Aurora Symphony Orchestra says otherwise. Their Spring Masterworks concert, Romantic Elegy, will exude warmth and nobility from American style works. It will also include “swashbuckling melodies” and romance. Valentine’s Day doesn’t offer pirate music and love. . . just saying.
