DENVER | Boston Market Corp. is planning a string of summer deals and giveaways to lure customers, especially younger ones.
Chief brand officer Sara Bittorf says the campaign, describing Boston Market as an unofficial sponsor of summer, is built to show how the chain can fit into people’s lifestyles.
In one deal, which lasts through July 29, kids under 12 who come in wearing a team uniform get a free dessert when they buy a kids meal. And in August, an extreme sports athlete is hosting a giveaway.
Darren Tristano of the food industry research firm Technomic Inc. says the Golden, Colo.-based company is facing competition from other fast-casual restaurants as well as grocery stores that offer hot meals.
