AURORA – Two Aurora schools in lockdown due to police activity in the area

Students at Gateway High School and Jewell Elementary School are in lock down at the request of Aurora police, officials say.

Students at the schools will not be allowed to leave the schools because of police activity in the area, said Paula Hans, spokeswoman for Aurora Public Schools.

The high school is making arrangements to feed students who will not be allowed to leave the school, Hans said.

Parents of the students have been notified, she said.
