AURORA | City officials on Thursday announced that the next wave of construction along Fitzsimons Parkway for the RTD Aurora light rail line is set to begin.
Official estimates said that construction work on the Aurora Line / I-225 rail project will move into its second phase as early as overnight Sunday, July 19, and would continue for several weeks.
As part of the traffic pattern changes, northbound and southbound Fitzsimons Parkway will be open from Colfax Avenue to Montview Boulevard, and 17th Avenue also will be open. Westbound 17th Place to the northbound portion of Fitzsimons Parkway also will be open during this phase of work.
Motorists are advised that southbound Fitzsimons Parkway to eastbound 17th Place will be closed for the duration of this phase of construction work.
