Season highlights: Rangeview’s undefeated season came to an end in the Class 5A semifinals when the Raiders fell short in a dual against Eaglecrest at the Coors Events Center, but the Raiders (26-1) had a spectacular run that netted them the most wins of any 5A team in Colorado and came up just short of earning them at winning the first state championship for the program since 1985. Coach Shawn Palmer’s team needed each and every one of the 10 players who saw the floor regularly to step up at different times to keep the unbeaten season going and they all did their parts down to the very end. Seniors Tyrei Randall, EJ Reed and junior Elijah Blake — all first team All-EMAC selections — and senior Jalen Guidry all played integral roles in one of the finest seasons in school history. Blake will take over a prime role next season as a returning senior and he will likely be even harder to contain than he was this season as a facilitator and attacker. His season-high of 19 points came twice and both in key spots, as he helped Rangeview rally to win 65-63 at Cherry Creek on Dec. 17 and also outlast George Washington 72-65 on Jan. 15. Blake’s season netted him a share of the EMAC Player of the Year award along with Aurora Central’s Ladarius Thomas. He will play on Team West in the A-Town All-Star Game.

Blake vs. Aurora teams: Smoky Hill (8 points & 5 steals); Cherokee Trail (5 points); Regis Jesuit (14 points & 5 steals);  Aurora Central (9 points, 6 points & 4 steals); Hinkley (11 points); Eaglecrest (7 points)
