2015-16 averages: 11.1 points, 4.7 rebounds
College: Wyoming (football, signed)
Season highlights: Another year, another Class 5A state championship for Overland’s supremely talented group, which featured eight seniors determined to finished with back-to-back state titles and made it happen despite some challenges along the way. Coach Danny Fisher’s Trailblazers turned heads in Las Vegas when it won the Platinum Division of the Tarkanian Classic and posted an overall record of 5-0 against teams outside of the state of Colorado. The senior core included De’Ron Davis — a 6-foot-10 Indiana University signee — Alijah Halliburton and Reggie Gibson, all holdovers from last season’s state championship winner, along with Jervae Robinson, who returned to the program where he played his first two seasons before moving away as a junior. Halliburton is a football player who signed with the University of Wyoming as a safety, but his athleticism and defense in the paint were crucial to both of Overland’s titles. His best performance also came in Las Vegas when he scored 14 points and pulled down 14 rebounds in a 64-55 win over Bingham (Utah). Halliburton will play for Team West in the A-Town All-Stars Game.
Halliburton vs. Aurora teams: Regis Jesuit (15 points & 6 rebounds); Eaglecrest (14 points & 5 rebounds, 14 points & 6 rebounds); Smoky Hill (8 points, 23 points & 8 rebounds); Cherokee Trail (6 points & 2 points); Grandview (12 points & 5 rebounds, 3 points)
