Season highlights: With the graduation of some top talent from a team that made the Class 5A state semifinals in 2014-15, coach John Olander hoped coming into the season that his Eaglecrest team would make it as far as the Great 8. The Raptors matched and well-surpassed that hope by going undefeated through its first 17 games, sharing the Centennial League championship with Overland and navigating a very difficult bracket in the 5A state playoffs to make it all the way to the state championship game before falling to the rival Trailblazers. Juniors Colbey Ross and Ikenna Ozor proved to be the two finishers on a team that thrived with uncommon depth, athleticism and teamwork. Ozor’s length and understanding of space under the basket made him a quiet, but dangerous threat and he was nearly a 70-percent shooter from the field. Ozor scored in double figures 11 times during the season, with three of them coming in the playoffs, included a season-high 22 points in the Raptors’ Great 8 win over Regis Jesuit. He will play opposite Ross on Team West in the A-Town All-Stars Game.

Ozor vs. Aurora teams: Smoky Hill (4 points & 6 rebounds, 12 points); Overland (8 points, 4 points, 7 points); Cherokee Trail (9 points, 9 points); Grandview (9 points, 6 points); Regis Jesuit (22 points); Rangeview (10 points & 6 rebounds)
