AURORA | A car thief who stole and crashed four cars during a Monday morning crime spree has been arrested in Boulder, police said.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested around 10:40 a.m. in Boulder, almost four hours after a crime spree that started when the car thief crashed a stolen car at East Evans Avenue and South Tower Road.
After the crash, police say the suspect stole a gold GMC Jimmy from the 18300 block of East Atlantic Drive around 6:55 a.m.
The suspect crashed that car 15 minutes later near East Sixth Avenue and Del Mar Circle.
Five minutes after that crash, police say the suspect broke into a house in the 500 block of Toledo Street. The homeowner confronted the suspect and the suspect fled on foot.
The suspect then went a few houses down and pulled a tow truck driver from their truck and sped away.
At 7:20 a.m., police say the suspect crashed the tow truck in Denver but fled the scene and was later arrested in Boulder.
Police said they are waiting on details about injuries form the crashes.
